Ireland (for now) has the third cheapest mortgage rates in the Eurozone
There is nothing more expensive than a missed opportunity!
Ireland now has the third cheapest mortgage rates in the Eurozone. Unusually, Irish rate increases have lagged compared to other Eurozone countries, but it likely won’t stay that way for too long. The lowest mortgage rate on the Irish market today is 2.15% and the highest is almost touching 6%.
The ECB is almost guaranteed to hike rates by at least another 0.25 or 0.50 percentage points when it meets at the start of February and by at least another 0.25 percentage points when it meets again in the middle of March. This means more rate increases from all the lenders are on the way.
The good news? There is still time to act. Whether you are on a variable, tracker, or a fixed rate with a year or two remaining, I would encourage you to review your rate options. The lowest 4 year fixed rate is 2.15% and the lowest 7 year fixed rates is 2.50%, both of these rates offer excellent value.
